I think I'm on a scam call

FirstHang up. You don't owe anyone a polite goodbye.

You can hang up. Real agencies and companies will still be there when you call back.

  1. Hang up if they pressure you to act now. Honest businesses give you time to think (FTC).
  2. Don't pay by gift card, wire transfer, crypto or payment app because a caller says so. Anyone who insists on those is a scammer (FTC).
  3. Don't confirm your Social Security number or account numbers. No government agency calls out of the blue to ask for them (FTC).
  4. Call back using a number you find yourself: the back of your card, your statement, or the official website.
  5. Report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov (FTC).
Don't. Already paid? Contact the bank, app or gift card company you paid through right away and ask them to reverse it (FTC).
